St. Mary's Cathedral is Sponsoring a Family from Burundi coming to Kingston after several years in a Refugee Camp in Tanzania. The family consists of two parents and nine children who will have many physical, spiritual, financial and social needs upon arrival. Coffeeco staff have decided that as a company, we will raise funds to supply the school supplies required for the nine children. These supplies include backpacks, calculators, pens, pencils, markers, erasers, and lunch boxes. Most of us know the cost associated with one or two children, but the cost of outfitting nine children is daunting. To begin the process of raising funds, we are offering weekly coffee workshops delivered by owner Rich Ottenhof, who is a certified Specialty Coffee Association of America instructor specializing in Roasting, Cupping and Barista Techniques. These workshops can be attended for a nominal fee of $5.00 per person (Register Here), with all of the proceeds going to the St. Mary's Refugee Fundraising effort. We all know that we are blessed to be living in a City as beautiful and prosperous as Kingston, and a Country as bountiful and peaceful as Canada, and it is our hope that our wonderful coffeeco and Multatuli customers will support our efforts to make the transition for this family as smooth as possible.
